There is a Konpiragu Shrine in this mountain community that offers views all the way to the sea. Heading south, you'll encounter grave markers for rebel soldiers of the Satsuma Rebellion while continuing on the Hyuga Thoroughfare. The highlights of this course are the Akagodani stone-paved road and the Oni-no-meguri stone.
