A Town with Close Ties to th Aso Family
From around the 11th to 17th centuries, the home of the high priest of Aso Shrine was located in Yabe, a part of the town of Yamato. The Hata and Irisa region was the focus of a lot of development by the Aso clan. The bucolic landscape is especially charming in early summer when the fireflies fill the evening sky.
