This course heads north from the grounds of the Takabata Toshine Shrine into a forest. Once you emerge from the forest, you are greeted by Mt. Sobo, its surrounding mountains, and a wide swathe of farmlands. The course then heads south to the Three Buddhas of Takatsuji before doubling back and heading east at Hayanara Shrine. After leaving Takabata, you'll come across a spring pond often inhabited by ducks. The path then goes up through a bamboo grove to the finish.
