Go through the tunnel opposite the Kumamoto Station Shinkansen Exit and slip 1300 years back in time! Enjoy the views of Mt. Kinbo as you come across an elementary school decorated with dragons! As you make your way up the trail, you'll find the nationally designated historical ruins of Chihenji Temple and visit other thousand-year-old temples and shrines.
